I like to pay music whilst working I find that I cannot stop the "bongs and thumps" whenever I scroll through a page or click on a link in Firefox. Can you let me know how to turn these sounds off Many thanks Regards Paul

Firefox has one sound, for the Find bar. Maybe you installed an extension that has sounds associated with that extension?

Once you figure out which one has the sounds, check out the developers information at the downloads site or the help file for that extension on how to turn the sounds off.

Thank you for your reply, on further investigation I suspect its caused by the sound card (a rather ancient SB Audigy) I guess I will have to replace it at some point

Firefox uses the system sounds as set in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices

Thanks tried that, muted system sounds makes no difference I changed to a different soundcard driver and whilst the noise is less intrusive its still there I think i will have to put up with it until I get another sound card
