Firefox 7 and 8beta remembers where I saved files from the site (different places for different sites), but not were I saved files last time. Different setting of Download place for different sites are remembered. When I saving something from Google to C:\Pants\ and then saving from yandex.ru to C:\Bees\ Firefox remembers it. When I start new download from Google I see download place C:\Pants\ When I start new download from yandex.ru - to C:\Bees\ When at the morning I downloading everything about "Pants" from many web-sites, and at the evening - about "Bees" from same web-sites -It is very bad, because I have to change downloading place for all sites, from were I downloaded something at the morning. I have to change download place every time, when I start downloading from the site, where I downloaded something to different folder. If it is "new good thing" - I want a "fix" for it. Now I downgraded FF to 3.6

I would expect that you installed some downloader extension to place different filetypes or from different sites into separate directories.

You can see where files were downloaded via "Ctrl+J" which brings up the downloads manager.

There are no working dnld managers - in process explorer. I deinstalled FF 4 times (tried different versions), I killed folder with profile settings of FF. Something is wrong, but I dont know, what. FF 3.6 working OK, ver 7 and ver 8 are not OK. May be problem was born from some addon - but now I deinstalled and killed all of them... Will try to find smth.

The destination of downloads is now remembered on a site-by-site basis. This data can be accessed using DownloadLastDir.jsm. In other words, Firefox team made it so that it won't save to your last save directory.

So all the files you want to download come from a single thread on cats, if the website uploads all those cat files to different servers ie. bee.imas.com and dog.imas.com and pants.imas.com then FF7.0+ will treat them as different websites and will require you to manually switch directories.

The old way is better where it only remembers where you last saved your file. Ctrl-J only list the domain. ie. imas.com and not where you saved the pictures unless you manually Open containing folder. I hope they revert this in 7.02 as otherwise I'll have to rollback to a memory intensive version.
