I'm in the process of migrating from Maxthon to FF7. I'm trying to get FF tweaked similar to Mx so that it will be an easy transfer. One of the things that I was able to do on Mx was to place an application's .exe onto one of Mx's toolbars. For example, I could place my password holder's (Keepass) shortcut icon or the Google Earth's icon onto the toolbar and then all I had to do was single left click and up came the application. Can I do something like this with FF7?

Maybe look at PrefBar.
