Chrome Replases and over powersFirefox
In the last two months Chrome has automatically replaced Firefox three times as my browser! I have always set Firefox as my browser of choice.
In the "Extensions" sub folder under Firefox 6, I have found a file with references to Chrome. I have deleted that folder.
I have downloaded a fresh / virgin copy of Firefox and installed it but Chrome is the browser that turns up on my desktop!
I do have "Google" as my home page.
In the past I inadvertently played with Chrome to get Google to load more hits per page than the standard ten hits. When I realized that I was in Chrome I got out of it as fast as I could.

You can only get more than 10 results in Google if you disable Google Instant.
There is a link directly to the right of the Google search field on the Google results page.
That is a button with a drop down list: Instant is On/Off.
There is also a radio check box on the Google Settings page, that has replaced the previously used Suggestions.
Google Instant:
- Use Google Instant — predictions and results appear while typing
- Do not use Google Instant
