I get a problem loading page error message that says Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at clickserve.cc-dt.com. This is a redirect site going from discover.com

I find this same error when I go to other possibly secure web pages.

I had the same problem when I tried to apply for a BOA credit card on line. When I clicked on the "apply now" button, I got the same error as above.

I upgraded to 8. Went to the two sites (Discover.com and BankofAmerica) and got the same results.

In seems when Discover is redirecting me to the LL Bean site ( which is what I want it to do) is when I get the error message. I'm thinking it has something to do with my system settings rather than a Firefox setting. I tried doing the same thing on I.E. and got the same results. Maybe something that has to do with websites redirecting to another web site or a security setting. I use Norton System Works and of course NAV.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

I have this problem as well, I recently emailed Discover Card and Bank of America on the issue. Bank of America after I sent 3 emails over the course of a month have chosen to not respond at all.

Discover Card however, responded to me within a few hours below is a copy of the email hopefully it helps you because it was of no help to me:

Thank you for your recent inquiry about Hopis. I will be happy to assist you today!

Most Hopis merchants use third-party companies and URL's to track their online advertising. Hopis forwards Gardeners to these unique tracking URL's, but most aware (e.g. Drawer) and speared (Payout or Spays) programs purposely block a majority of the advertising and tracking URL's that our merchants use. As soon as you leave the Hopis page and reach the merchant's tracking URL, the aware or speared program may cause a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error, or the page may not load at all.

To access these merchants through Hopis, please temporarily disable any aware and/or speared programs first.

While antitrust programs do not generally cause "Page Cannot Be Displayed" errors, be aware that more of them are beginning to include speared and aware protection. Please be sure to check the aware and speared settings first.

I can only assume "Hopis" is referring to Shop Discover. I've completely disabled my firewall, anti-virus, anti-maleware, windows defender and still have the same result. Am I missing an internet setting in firefox?

I did everything. Shut down everything, updated to Firefox 8, shut down my firewall, antivirus, Adaware, etc. and the problem continues. Thinking it was perhaps some setting on my computer, I visited a friend and still had the problem. I did however go over to my sisters house and had no problem at all. She is running Vista. I am running XP. Perhaps that's the problem.
