I have just updated to the latest version of Firefox but it keeps telling me to update to the latest version, why?
I updated to the latest version of Firefox, but every time I launch Firefox it says I don't have the latest version. I have tried reinstalling it but it still says that I need to update to the latest version.

There must be some reason for Firefox asking again and again. My suggestion will cure the symptom, but there may be more behind it and I as yet have no clue - maybe my colleagues will have a better suggestion. Here's the suggestion:
open Tools > Options > Advanced > Update
and turn Firefox Check box off. If the problem surfaces again, then it could possibly be the add-on (turn this check box off).
PS: If the answer has solved your problem, then the question as "Solved". This way you will help others in a similar situation.

Additionally:
What is the version info in Help (or Alt + H) > About Firefox? Also try after deleting (to the Recycle Bin) the updates.xml file in the Firefox installation folder.
