Why can't I block individual sites as I could in previous versions of Firefox (i.e. cookies)?

In the previous version of Firefox I could enter sites to block cookies (i.e., google.com) which cut down on the number of cookies attached to my computer. The newer version does not allow me to block individual sites. Have I overlooked something or will this feature be available again on a future version of Firefox?
