We are using Google Web Toolkit interface base application while using application we are facing crash several times. I have downgrade the Firefox from ver.8.0 to 6.0 and as in ver. 8.0 crashes were occurring very frequently (Every 10 Min. it use to crash with ver. 8.0 but now in ver. 6.0. it crashes twice to thrice a day) To resolve the problem I have followed several troubleshooting steps provided on Firefox Help as follows on different Pc. But the problem is still occurring.

1. I’ve tried three different Firefox ver. 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0

2. Started browser in to safe mode.

In the safe mode crashing frequency was low but it use to occur at least once in every one to two days.

3. Disabled “Use hardware acceleration when available”. Users have default themes from Firefox.

4. Manually removed all plugins.

5. Updated windows and display driver. 6. Uninstalled IPV6

I see RapportTanzan6.DLL|3.5.1108.55 injected in the crash report, it's a DLL from third-part application Trusteer Rapport, and old versions are known to be crashy with Firefox, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=699776 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=700176

Honestly, on a test machine, download FF9 and install besides your current version and make a try with a new profile.

I’ve tried with FF 9.0 for whole day; crashing frequency in ver.9.0 is more than FF ver.6.0

  1. 1
  2. 2
