Firefox won't open--crashes in normal and safe mode. Browser does not open at all, instead I get the crash reporter.

I have downloaded all current Windows updates and scanned my computer.

Chosen solution

Have a look at firefox crashes. It may help to update to the current Firefox 10.0.1 You may do that by going to say getfirefox.com to obtain the install file. Do NOT use any option of Windows or Firefox that mentions deleting personal settings, or you will loose settings including bookmarks and passwords.

One of the reasons for the very recent Release of Firefox 10.0.1 was to solve problems with startup crashes, so updating may help.

    • associated bug709860 bug716386

If after updating you continue to have crashes, please post the new crash IDs
