I've had problems with the past 3 Firefox updates but this latest appears the worst. As of a couple hours ago, all websites are not loading correctly, to the point that I am unable to use the Firefox link to reinstall Firefox. I did run a full scan on my computer yesterday so I know it was OK as of about 6 PM, 2/14/12. Prior to 2 hours ago, I was having problem with only a few websites and had the same problem as with the past 2 updates---I am unable to use the adobe flash plugin. If I install the plugin, the links from email will not work--I cannot move from email to internet easily. I'm really losing patience with Firefox. This has been going on now for at least 6 months off and on, with most of the time not good. After looking below at the assumed browser and OS, I currently have no Adobe plugin for the above-mentioned reason.

Since yesterday, I've had 2 Microsoft updates! Now that these have been installed, Firefox is working fine with Adobe flash too. This whole thing is crazy.

At least I can use Firefox again, and completely for the first time in ages.

Just trying to re-install Firefox does not always solve problems with it.

Try firefox in safe mode <-- click link for instructions --

  • do not make change sin the first window, just click on continue
  • use only the default Firefox theme
  • if problems continue then whilst still in safe mode also disable all plugins
  • see also troubleshooting extensions and themes

Also look at and follow the tips in

We can look into the FlashPlayer problems later, lets see if we can get Firefox working normally ordinary none video content first of all. Does the advice in the articles linked above solve some of the problems ? Please post back with how you get on.

I'm taking a break from Firefox for a week. I'm sick and tired of trying to fix this and having to install/uninstall programs etc. I'd like Firefox to try fixing whatever has been going wrong for the past several months. I know many people are having no problems but many are. I'm tired of spending time that could be enjoyable doing things I am not trained to do and don't always know how to do.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Can't do this. Not sure what this would do. Each site is off in it's own way. Some are OK on the initial page then not on the 2nd. Most don't load correctly on the first page. I just downloaded a new browser---everything is working fine! It's Firefox.

Everything is probably working fine for most of 400 million Firefox users. Whatever the problem is it will probably only affect a few users, and may well be due to something to do with how you have Firefox set up on your computer.

If you are able to provide more information it helps us in trying to help you. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so attaching a couple of screenshots of the problem pages may assist us.

The suggestions in my first post did not involve installing and uninstalling anything, just simple tests and changes using mouse clicks. In fact I pointed out a reinstall may not solve problems.

(A special clean reinstall, or setting up a new profile does sometimes help, but first of all lets just try to find out first of all what you are seeing on your own computer screen)
