I'm running FF 12.0 on my MBP. I've used FF for years and years without problem, but this past weekend FF has started to hang. It takes far too long to load links and appears to be doing nothing. Upon clicking a link in a new tab it will show the page as "connecting" for upwards of a minute - it isn't loading tabs up anywhere near as quickly as it would normally.

I've tried the troubleshooting section through the mozilla page. I've renamed places.sqlite already. All extensions and plugins are disabled. I have updated Flash. I have updated Java. I have done a fresh install of FF.

Safari and Chrome run just fine, but I really don't like either of them.

Please help!

Try to disable IPv6 in Firefox:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thanks for the reply cor-el.

I disabled IPv6. All extensions and themes are off. Restarted in Safe Mode.

The problem persists...
