Did you try other suggestions listed in the article like another DNS server or flush the DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns)?

The 2 web sites in question give " server not found" with both firefox and internet explorer. I cycled power to the modem and tried disabling DNS prefitching. Did not help. Others have no problem accessing these web sites. In the past I also had no problems. The problem started in the last 2 or 3 months that I have not been able to access them. I feel I have something set wrong in my computer but I don't have a clue as to what. I h previously tried dumping all cookies, history and temp files with no help.

no I will go back and try those

I flushed the cache and tried open DNS. These did not work. HOWEVER for the first time I saw that neither of these web sites supply identity information and that the connection is not encrypted. I never ran into this problem before and I always connected with them before. Somewhere I have set something wrong. Help

Actually most of the sites I connect to just fine do not provide Identity info and do not encript

You can only get identity information if there is a secure (HTTPS) connection like this forum uses.
With a normal HTTP connection that info is not available.

Open DNS does correct the problem. A couple of days ago when I thought it didn't I somehow hadn't completed installation correctly.
