Hi, Since installing latest version of Firefox (13), a little window pops up at random, saying plug-in container has stopped working. What does that mean?
This doesn't happen very often ( it's usually at night), but I'd like to know if my computer is at risk? So far Firefox has only crashed once as a result of this. Is there a way to find out what plug-in is causing the problem? I'm not using that many...

hello, that's probably related to the recent update of the adobe flash plugin - for common solutions refer to Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox
there is a also a firefox update scheduled in the next few days that should fix at least some of the plugin-container crashes...

I haven't had any problems viewing videos on YouTube...yet. But that plug-in container pop up window has appeared once when I was on Twitter, and Pinterest. It seems to be completely random. Do you still think it's caused from the Adobe Flash update?
All of this is completely lost on me, so I apologize ahead of time. :) I love Firefox, and have never had problems before...I just want to make sure it's safe for me to keep using for now.
when you're typing about:crashes into the location bar, are there any recent crash reports listed there? if so could you paste the ids into a reply here on the forum - this might give us a clue what plugin is behind those error messages. thank you...
Since this all started, I've had the settings set to "Never remember history." Will I still be able to find a crash report? (I'll change it back if needed.)
Also Firefox itself has only crashed once...are reports made even when a plug-in stops working? If it helps, this is what I'm seeing in the window: "Plug-in container for Firefox has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." When I close the window, Firefox remains open. Everything is up to date (Windows, Plugins), and so far all the scans are clear.
I don't know if this has anything to do with the plug-in issue, but I found the crash report via the Windows start menu. (This is the one that happened a few nights ago...the only time the entire browser has actually crashed.)

thanks for providing the id - this one crash was apparently unrelated to plugins and was cuased by another yet unfixed bug.
i still think the windows plugin error messages are caused by the adobe flash upgrade to version 11.3 because of the time context (adobe flash was released on june 8th). as i've said, there will be an firefox update probably tomorrow that fixes some part of the problems with the new flash plugin. please install this update and see if the issue is already solved by it - in case it isn't please check back here and we will further try to troubleshoot it... thank you again

yes, that shouldn't be a a problem (it's neither a security issue nor will it "damage" your pc in any way) - it's just a nuisance...
I have this problem too - often.
Often I'd be just sitting with FireFox (13.0) open (ie: no consistent known activity), and the error message pops up.

That is a problem with the Flash plugin.
You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

I think the recent update of FireFox to 13.0.1 (6/28/2012) may have helped with this problem - as I no longer see it popping up.
I am still on Adobe Flash version 11.3.300.257 which was updated 6/12/2012, and did nothing to to change it.
