I use Firefox on my desktop. In the retirement home where I live, they have a computer setup that when I put a program so I could have an alarm clock, it changed my 'home page', so now it won't open. I would like to change this web service to Firefox, but can't use either the CD ROM drive, nor IE to get the Firefox program. My solution was to 'download' using an FTP program, but I need to know the 'server name','the user name' and the 'password'

If the computer can handle an USB drive then you can copy the Firefox installer to such a device.

You can usually access an FTP server as an anonymous user and an email address as password if necessary.
