Why does my "save" feature not respond whenever I try to save a page and the program has to close?

more options

I use a notebook computer with Windows 7.

When I make a purchase, for instance, and want to save the confirmation page, the "Save" box comes up with all of my folders in it. I enter the name of the file I want to save but then my computer stops responding so I have to shutdown Firefox completely, wait a few minutes, and try again. Again, my computer stops responding and I have to shutdown Firefox. This happens all the time but when i use Internet Explorer, I don't have this problem.

I install all of the updates when I'm told to and restart the program but it seems as though every time there's an upgrade to Firefox, more problems start happening.

I started using Firefox because I really don't like Internet Explorer but I'm using IE more and more lately because of the problems with Firefox.

What's going on? It can't be my computer if I don't have the same problems when using IE.

Have you tried the suggestions in this article? What to do if you can't download or save files.

Also, although it's not a complete replacement, I usually print those kinds of pages to PDF.
