Once per week I go to a place with an awful internet connection. During that time all the pictures in the new tabs page disappear. When I get back home some of the pictures appear (usually less than 4), but the others don't. I've tried clearing my cache and loading the pages. Simply opening a page and waiting for it to load doesn't restore the picture. Removing the bookmark from the new tab page and adding it back doesn't bring the picture back. The pictures return back completely randomly. Sometimes I have tried waiting 10 minutes after the page has loaded and the picture still wont appear.

The pages can be pinned to the new page so that the site thumbnails featured remain the same. The picture for the thumbnail is reliant on the site being cached by Firefox, so you should try to avoid fully clearing the cache.

In a future version of Firefox (probably fx16) the thumbnails should be stored separately and that should prevent this sort of problem. (Although it is likely the thumbnails will still disappear if you use the clear History option).

I have pinned all 9 sites since the beginning. The thumbnail usually changes every time I enter the website. I would understand if I have a low internet connection it wouldn't be able to load the site, but after I get my connection back it still wont load the thumbnail.
