Prior to 14.0.1, the spellcheck context menu showed a small, consistent number of alternatives. It now shows ~100 every time. There are no config options visible in either the options dialog or in about:config to control how many are shown. As it is now, spellcheck is unusable except for adding words to the dictionary.

Are these 100 different suggestions or do the same ones repeat over and over?

Have you added a lot of words to your custom dictionary?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

For now, restarting Firefox reset the affected variable, and the context menu only shows four menus. If the bug re-appears, I'll try to note exactly what may have triggered it.
