problem with copying passwords from old to new machine.copied key3.dd and signons.sqlite from old to new profile but firefox won't recognize them
lots of hassle copying old profile to new machine .. finally got bookmarks over but can't get passwords recognized ... followed advice in old community conversation about how much/little to copy from old to new without any success

You did copy the two files to the correct location?
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
If you still have access to the old computer then try this extension:
- Password Exporter: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/password-exporter/

yes, I copied files to correct user profile ... went to Plan B using import/export addon and that worked (used .csv file as comment on website suggests)
