I am using firefox 15.0.1 on OS X Lion 10.7.4.

Each time I try to clear my cache, firefox just freezes. Then I have to force quit. I tried this many times. I have no clue what to do.

Is your cache huge? My Firefox freezes for at least 30 seconds on some cache- and history-related operations.

Are you clearing your cache to solve a particular problem? Perhaps there is another way.

Try to clear (trash or delete) the cache folder on disk manually.

Same here. Firefox would hang on clicking the Advanced tab in Tools > Options. Solved by deleting all files in

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>.default\Cache

(Windows 7, Firefox 18)

This has been an issue with mac ever since I use Firefox. Never got solved. Up till today my Firefox consistently hangs when clearing cache. It would be nice if some FF developer had a serious look at this. It's pretty annoying, especially when developing websites.
