Customizing toolbars breaks bookmark properties window...
When I right-click a bookmark in the Bookmarks menu and select "Properties," nothing happens. The window where I could normally edit the bookmark's name and the like does not appear.
I've tried resetting Firefox using the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page, and this fixed the problem -- however, the problem now re-appears every time I try to customize my toolbars (specifically, by moving the "Home" button to the left of the address bar from its default position on the right). I've tried this a couple of times: every time I reset Firefox, the problem goes away and the bookmark properties window appears as normal; but then as I start getting my settings back to how they were before the reset (trying to bring up the bookmark properties every step of the way to see if it still works), it's after I customize my toolbars that it stop working.
I don't have any add-ons enabled, and the only plug-ins I have are the ones that were installed by default. I am using Firefox 16.0.1 on Windows XP, and in a new (limited) account I just created on this old computer (so most of my settings are still whatever they are by default). I've never encountered this problem before.
The obvious work-around is just to not customize my tool bars, or to use the "Show All Bookmarks" Library window (which still works fine) to edit my bookmarks' properties, but I really wish that I could both customize my toolbars and have the bookmark properties accessible from the menu. :( Any advice or help would be very appreciated.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
