If you have intermittent problems with opening web pages one possibility is that you have problems with say: WiFi connections, the router, or your Internet Service.

You seem to mention all browsers were not working, but that Firefox is now working, (presumably on the same problematic computer) is that correct.

firefox works after trying to open it several times, and yes on the same computer... google won't open and ie won't open at all... once its open, i have no problem browsing the net... but its opening/starting up the browsers that seem to be difficult...

the only way i can open it is if run troubleshoot compatibility, then it seems to open about 90% of the time... other times even that doesn't work...

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
