I cant make the restore defaults work in fire fox

I lost google as my default search engine and when I try to restore default search engines the box is grayed out. All I have is an option for Firefox Add-ons. I am running xp3

Do the following:

Upgrade to Firefox 16.0.1: Update Firefox to the latest release

Then

Install This. Your Search Engine should now be Reset to Google
