For the last couple of days, when I open a new window, it does not go to the new window, but I have to manually click on the window to go to it; why is that?

My home page comes up as usual when I open Firefox. But then if I want to go to another website, it stays on my home page until I click on the new site on the banner. It used to go directly to the new site. How do I change it back so that when I open a new window, it will go to it automatically?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
