The past several updates will not load on my MAC computers. I need to completely remove firefox ( on all computers) and load the current as opposed to the simple update working. When the update notice comes on I click update and the line just spins doing nothing.

What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Hello terryschrubb

If there is an issue with update or permissions the better, quickest and safest way is to download and install firefox:

1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean install.

3. Install the version that you have downloaded.

Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

see also, VERY IMPORTANT : Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.5

16.0 is the latest supported for your mac 10.5 (you can continue to use Mac OS X 10.5 and Firefox 16 AND they will continue to work. However, you will no longer receive stability and security updates for Firefox)

thank you
