these ads are there on everything while I am on Firefox searching shopping, I can't be on Facebook anymore because the page jumps around with ads and these ads and I can't read anything and I can't answer anyone contacting me. Why are these ads there and how do I get rid of them for good? I try to keep up with all updates and keep things cleaned up. When I use another search engine other than Firefox the ads are not there and I am good, so I know it is connected with Firefox somehow. I have used Firefox for years with no troubles until now. I will have to switch if this can't be fixed.

Please help.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
