When I open a new tab, my pinned sites do not show and a search engine shows instead.

I would like to change my new tab page from a search engine I don't want back to the pinned sites I had before. I would like to uninstall the toolbar that changed this setting, but I have been unable to find it in Control Panel. I have disabled it, but that setting seems to be permanent for the new tab window. Please explain how to change it back?

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
