Firefox will work fine for a few days, then I will click on a website and then it will not connect. I will then close out all firefox windows and then try to reopen a new firefox window. At this point, I will get an error message that says something like, "firefox not responding, already running, shut down firefox and restart." The only way to fix it is to restart the computer. I have this problem on 3 different computers. I have tried to do a "clean" reinstall of firefox and that did not help either. WHAT IS WRONG WITH FIREFOX!!!

See:

  • Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that there isn't a hanging Firefox or plugin-container process left in the Task Manager.
  • Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox"; Linux: "Firefox/File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
  • Try to wait a bit longer (30 seconds) to give Firefox more time to close properly.
