I can see a list of downloaded files but no information on the source for the download (from where it was downloaded). I can right click and copy the link, but cant see it unless I actually paste it somehwere. When I click on the file in the list - nothing happens. That is because the file has been deleted but you cant see this information either. What is that download list good for ?

all the settings you make in Firefox, like your home page, what toolbars you use, saved passwords and bookmarks are all stored in a special profile folder? It's true. Your profile folder is kept in a separate place from the Firefox program so that if something ever goes wrong with Firefox your information will still be there. For dis u have to go At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open. Under the Application Basics section, click on Show Folder. A window with your profile files will open

for the Windows Vista and 7 users

at 1st Click the Windows Start button and type %APPDATA% \Mozilla\Firefox \Profiles\ in the Search box at the bottom of the Start menu, without pressing Enter. A list of profiles will appear at the top of the Start menu. Then Click on the profile with “default” in the name to open it in a window.and for the Windows XP users at 1st Click the Windows Start button, and select Run....

Type in %APPDATA%

\Mozilla\Firefox \Profiles\ then click OK. A window will open containing profile folders.then Double-click the folder with “default” in the name to open it.

Hi maddy121
Note that this thread is about Mac, so directions for the Windows platform won't help.

If a file that you have downloaded has been deleted then Open and Open Containing folder will be disabled.
Otherwise you may still want to keep such entry in the Download Manager for reference (i.e. where it comes from). You need to remove the entries yourself to cleanup the list of downloaded files.

There are more choices available if you right-click an entry in the Downloads folder in the Library.

Your replies are not usefull. The Firefox download presentation is crap I do not want to right click on each downloaded file. That is a waist of time. Chrome is better.

Manager Tweak is OK but has one big drawback: it is very easy to delete the list and there is no undo command. So it does not solve my problem. Same problem with Chrome
