I went onto the firefox site to download firefox, and it saids that it is En-US. But after I download it, the installer is in chinese, and after I install it, the browser is also in chinese. So I want to know why it is like this. I have never had this problem before when I was installing firefox, but now it just installs the browser in the language that my computer system-locale is running.

I tried searching for an en-us language pack, but there is none. So, how am I supposed to change the language to US? Because British english and US english are fundamentally different.

Chosen solution

Don't use a language pack, but the en-US version.

You can find the latest Firefox 21.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Check the value of the general.useragent.locale pref on the about:config page and set that value to language code of the version or language pack that you have downloaded ("en-US") if there is still a wrong locale set.

Okay, I have tried using the en-gb language pack and the firefox is still chinese.

And then I tried quick locale switcher, and firefox is still chinese.

So something is wrong here, and I don't know what the problem is. Anyone have any solutions?

Thanks for the help!

But I was wondering, does this mean that I can still use chinese sites and not get the boxes right?
