Does that mean that you have to confirm closing once for each window?

Yes. When I click the Close Window button, the Confirm close dialog window closes . . . but there is another one right behind it. I have to click the Close Window button again, and only then does the Firefox browser window close.

A couple of factors are involved:

1. I have "Warm me when I have multiple tabs" set to on.

2. Two or more tabs must be open in the Firefox window

3. I have at least two Firefox browser windows already open (not sure about this one, yet)

I thought before that it was necessary to have a dialogue box from a different program open, but this is not necessary for the bug to appear.

Thank you for your help!

Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

cor-el,

This solution is not satisfactory, because when I use Firefox > Exit, all open Firefox windows are closed, instead of just the one that I want closed.

If the problem I am having a known bug, then I will just wait for the problem to be fixed. If the problem is not a known bug, it should be reported. How do I do that? If the problem requires a tweak of the Firefox configuration, or will correct if the program is reinstalled, I would like to know that so I can take the necessary steps to fix it.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Thank you.

It makes sense to me that I should be consulted about closing each Firefox main window. Dialog boxes that are not main windows do not ask if I am sure I want to close them.

finitarry,

I agree with you . . . but what you describe is not what is happening . . . .

I am using a Firefox window. I click on the X at the top right of the program. The close confirm window opens up, asking me if I want to close all tabs. I click OK. Then, the very same window opens again and asks me the exact same question. I click OK, then the Firefox window closes.

I agree, it's good to be consulted, to make sure that closing all the tabs is OK. But why does it have to ask the same exact question again ?? That's the problem.
