I was browsing youtube earlier and all of the sudden whenever i would click "show the comment" to see the comment someone had replied to the the persons response disappeared and there would be a large blank space. Tried it on Internet Explorer and everything worked fine so its just FF that its not working on. Also tried clearing my cache and cookies, that didnt work either. Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here. Firefox 22, Windows 7 64 bit. Just started happening a few days ago. I tried disabling all plugins and extentions clearing everything out of history and cache and even tried private browsing and the problem still occurs. One thing that I did notice was when I had the window maximized then clicked on "Show the Comment" the white space appeared and the comment dissapeared. However when I un-maximized the window the comment appeared and the extra space went away. It also seems to fix it even if the window is not maximized and I just resize the window enough for it to have to adjust placement of the comments within the window. Not sure what any of this means but maybe someone out there may get a clue as to what is going on by these symptoms. I have tried reproducing in Internet Explorer 10 but the problem does not occur.

This is what happens.

I am having this same problem with comodo icedragon. must be something youtube did

Is it reproducible on another browser? If not follow the instructions below

I have this problem too, and another problem appeared at the same time, it must be related. The video is moved down a bit and a black space is above it, the picture will clarify.

I cleared the cache and cookies, still the problem persists.

Has anyone tested this on another web browser?

I just tested on an incognito window in Chrome, the comments problem is not present, but the black space above the video is. So the black space is either from Youtube (if someone else confirms it) or something I did, not a Firefox problem.

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Ghostery that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

I disabled all extensions (I was using Adblock Plus and Flasblock), I still have the problem.

I'm having the problem, too. Tried clearing cache and disabling all my extensions and it didn't work. Whenever I click show comment, it disappears and stretches the page down. I can sometimes get the page to fix itself and show the comment by clicking on the little circle thing on the top right of the comment that opens a drop down menu, but that might be a coincidence. I don't have the black bar problem that others are having. Also this seemed to happen last night some time. It was fine all day until some point last night. I wonder what happened in that time span to cause this.

I think this problem has more so to do with the loading of the previous comment when you click on the 'show comment' than anything else... It almost pauses to think about what to do when you click on it.

(and for Fire Fox) no, this problem doesn't happen on g-Chrome, nor IE.

You know what... the resizing thing actually works! I disabled full screen and just re-sized it to be 'full screen'. wicked!

(tested it a bit) Nope... not an easy fix...

This is just annoying. I have disabled everything, cleared all history/cache, and this problem still persists. I guess that I'll switch browsers for a while until it gets cleared up.

I have done the full reset, even, and it keeps happening.

My specs: Firefox: Version 22.0 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU: Intel i7-3770K @3.5 GHZ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H GPU: Gigabyte GV-N660OC-2GD (320.49) RAM: 15GB (+1 being used by my video card)

Yeah, it's still happening.

As you can see, it's pretty bad.

Works fine on Google Chrome itself though. To be honest, I was going to use the same video for this screenshot but those comments are better left on Youtube.

I think that it's an error with Firefox 22.0. I didn't have this issue with 21.

well its not really fixed but thats the best solution available right now so... there must be a glitch with Firefox 22.0 or something, hopefully they fix it soon. you just have to un-maximize the window (and you cant make it fullscreen manually or the problem keeps happening.) its super annoying but what can you do.

Hey guys,

There is a bug on file for this and we suspect it's something that has changed on the YouTube end. It looks like QA was able to reproduce it all the way back to FF 17 or so and it looks like it just started happening a few days ago. Anyway, I doubt it's a FF 22 thing but will let you know when we know more.
