Since the last Firfox upgrade, when I type the cursor jumps around. I'll be typing and all of a sudden the typing is in the subject line, or the line above. Then I have to backspace and re-type. Also it will suddenly highlight and erase all I've typed. Control Z brings it back, but it's frustrating.

It did this once before and it was an add on that caused it. I tried the same solution this time, but it didn't work.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
