Jittering then blue screen of death (BSOD)

Where I said: "I was beginning to feel confident the 'Use hardware acceleration when available' had fixed it. However today I noticed my mouse getting jittery (I noticed it while in FF but it was also jittery throughout the desktop) so I immediately exited FF. The mouse continued to be jittery and then about a minute later BSOD. I therefore conclude it is NOT FF but my PC. Thanks for the support and help and sorry for incorrectly pointing my finger at FF"
However I have still continued to be plagued by this issue - typically after 3-5 hours of up time with FF on all the time. So for the last 2 days I have NOT been using FF and have NOT suffered a BSOD or indeed any slow down.
I therefore believe the issue is FF related.

Can you please check if your drivers are all up-to-date (especially your graphics driver).

Windows is very much up to date, but I don't know how to check my graphics drivers.
FYI I've not run FF for 2 weeks now and have NOT suffered any jittering mouse or BSOD
I wonder what FF does that means it pushes the boundaries of my desktop than my other apps?!
Did you try another mouse?
You can try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do you have a nvidia card as it has been said every Geforce driver after March or version 320 and up can be very unstable including causing bsod and is fine with 314.22 depending on the graphics card.

An application like Firefox itself does not cause BSOD. It is hardware, drivers like for video cards or runlevel software that normally cause such to happen. Firefox may just be helping to trigger the bsod in right case but it does not mean it is the reason for bsod.

It is an ATI Technologies Radeon HD 4300/4500 if that helps - fyi I have FF hardware acceleration option turned off.
is there a solution already to the blue screen crash whenever firefox is opened? my FF hardware acceleration option is turned off too and i thought it fixed it...but sadly no :(.
