I have a certain web page that comes up a lot whenever i click on opening a thread. I would like to block this web page but noplace do I see exclusions only exceptions. This page opens a whole new window.

I love Firefox but if you can't solve this problem I will have to use another browser because its really annoying. I have checked my computer for root kits and have not found any.

I'm plagued with all kinds of advertisements for FLV player. I'm putting down this web page as i have received it.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
