After doing a reset all my bookmakes are gone. I've followed the instructions to restore them, but still nothing. Any ideas?
When I click on restore it just goes back to the Library page.

Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
- Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
- Click the Firefox button to open the menu and click on Bookmarks.
- Click the Bookmarks menu and click on Show All Bookmarks.
- At the top of the Library window, click the "Import and Backup" menu and select Restore.
- Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
- In the new window that appears, click OK.
- Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.
For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.

I apologize if you have already attempted this.
Was your previous version of Firefox connected to the Sync feature.
Have done this and still no bookmarks. :(
Not that I know of.
Sorry that you are displeased with the performance of Firefox.
Did you save any backups of your bookmarks in HTML form prior to resetting Firefox?
Did you do a clean reinstall or use the Firefox reset feature?
You can check if there is an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.
If you find this folder then check the bookmarkbackups folder for JSON backups.
You can also if there are more profile folders.
I used the Firefox reset feature. No I didn't save as HTML as it said all bookmakers, passwords etc would be unaffected.
I've found the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop. When i try to open it it says windows can't because it doesn't know what program created it. I'm confused now.
The popup window when resetting actually says, "We will try..." and in some uncommon cases the bookmarks are removed on accident.
<strike>If none of the above solutions work, I am afraid that your bookmarks have most likely been removed. Although, I can not say that I am 100% sure that this is what has happened.
You can still seek further help if you so desire.
We are sorry if indeed your bookmark data has been lost. </strike>
Modified
Please ignore my above.
What type of file is the old profile?
I really hope they are not lost. A couple of years worth of research on various subjects. :(
It's a JSON file.
You should be able to restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup (bookmarks-####-##-##.json).
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore > Choose File
If there are problems with restoring then delete the places.sqlite file with Firefox closed and try again.
Sorry, what is the places.sqlite file?
The places.sqlite file is a file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the bookmarks and the history.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
The places.sqlite
file can be found in the Firefox application data. It is in the current profile that you are using now.
Never mind. I tried restoring through bookmark library (I'd tried 6+times already) but this time its worked. All back now. :) Thanks for your help.
