Hello,

A short while ago, I had a problem with the overlarge size of my site, when viewed using Firefox, and reduced the "font size," etc., to 1.0 via about:config.

However, as I now need to reset the font to its original (Firefox 24.0?) size. Can anyone please tell me what the original font size was BEFORE I reduced it?

Many thanks for your help.

Hello the-edmeister,

Animated GIF problem still not rectified. Not sure if you received my email response? Think all I may need to do is reset the "font size" in about:config to its original value. Can you tell me what this is? PS: I changed the value in about:config to 1.0 - and now need to revert back to what it was before. (But no idea what the original value was). Thanks for any further help you may be able to provide. EPS23

You can rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js and user.js files to reset all prefs to the default value.

Hi EPS23, if you changed layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from its default value of -1.0 to 1.0, you could restore -1.0 by hand or right-click it and choose Reset. Firefox then will read your setting from Windows. For example, 125% font size in Windows means 1.25 for the device-pixels-per-CSS-pixel setting.

I'm not sure of the connection with animated GIFs, however... it might be something else. If you creating one of those long "filmstrip" style animations, and you get the message that it cannot be displayed and contains errors, check the height and width: Firefox can't handle them if they are taller or wider than 32,766 pixels, if you have disabled hardware acceleration of graphics (which many users do to work around incompatibilities with some graphics drivers). Recommendation: don't exceed 32,766 pixels in height or width.
