I keep getting that pesky popup box that says, Warning: Unresponsive Plugin; Shockwave Flash may be busy, or it may have stopped responding...etc., which is getting increasingly annoying. I also get the popup box that says, Warning: Unresponsive Script...etc., on a regular basis. My PC usually becomes somewhat unresponsive right before either of these popup boxes appear. If someone could give me some advice on how to get rid of these popups, I would appreciate it very much! Thanks!

Hi,

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other Flash applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.

In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Other, more technical information about these issues can be found under these Links:

Hope this helps!

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
