can firefox sync please send my recovery key to my email so i can recover my data?
i built a new pc and formatted my old hard drive and before i formatted i thought about creating a firefox sync account to get my stuff back, and i didnt noticed i needed the recovery key to do so. some help from firefox would be appreciated

If the recovery key was saved anywhere then it would negate the need for a recovery key, as it would immediately make Firefox Sync insecure. The private nature of the recovery key is what makes it an effective form of security

there goes all my bookmarks, though it is my fault for not paying attention i think they should make a big ass sign saying "IF YOU DON'T SAVE YOUR RECOVERY KEY YOU ARE FUCKED"
Last dialog box of the Sync Set Up procedure.
it should have "WARNING:" at the begining and the sync key is necessary like this it's just my opinion
Sync isn't intended as a "cloud" for storing Firefox user data while the user formats their hard drive. Used correctly the user's Sync Key would be available from other devices that are being synchronized on the same Sync account.
thanks, i don't care anymore
