Hello giulioc,

you can manage your add-ons by pressing (ctrl, shift and a) at the same time. If you got still problems to delete them please upload a screenshot of your problem. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

Hello giulioc,

Try these steps to remove Add-Ons

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel.
  3. Select the add-on you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

This all stated because I cannot open PDF files with Firefox. I am trying to remove and reinstall the PDF programs. I have been Using Firefox since the start but for the last two weeks I been forced to use internet explorer because I need to continuously deal with PDF Documents. I have Adobe Acrobat pro (To work with PDF files)

Acrobat reader (To download and Save PDF files)
Google acrobat viewer (To view PDF files)

Now I cannot view nor download the PDF documents making it impossible for me to use Fire Fox Can you recommend anything or give assistance on how the get it to work. Thank You Giulio

I looked at your screen shot, and it looks like all of you add-ons were disabled. Did you do that? Try to right click on one add-on and see if you get a menu. If nothing seems to work, there is a last resort. You can reset Firefox to its factory settings. This will remove all add-ons and any settings you have made. Bookmarks and history should not be lost.

==================================

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.
