Every time I get on Firefox it ask if Firefox can make changes to my computer, but when I reset Firefox and make sure I have the latest version of Firefox like recommended, it still does it every time, why? And how do I fix it?
Chosen solution
Hello jandamass, be sure that Firefox is not set to run as Administrator. Right-click Firefox shortcut > Properties > deselect all items in Compatibility tab.
"Run this program in compatibility mode for:" keep it unchecked
check the same in firefox.exe program in Firefox program folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
thank you

I recommend trying to run Firefox as an Administrator. To do this right click Firefox and click Run as... then choose the Administrator account

I have the same problem. All the boxes are unchecked. Where exactly do I find the same in the program folder?
Firefox program folder:
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
If that doesn't help the do a clean reinstall and make sure to delete the Firefox program folder.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 27: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

Thanks for that.
I know where the mozilla folder is on the computer but it is not clear once you are in the folder where to go next. I have a list of Browser, components, defaults etc. C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\?????????\?????????\
