Win 7 Home Deluxe.

When using FF, regularly or in the safe mode, I am unable to complete an online deposit@home transaction on the USAA Federal Savings Bank website. The following error message appears:

Java™ version 6 update 10 or above is required in order to continue. Please download an updated version. For more information, review our Troubleshooting Tips". I have Java version 7 update 51 installed.

Trouble Shooting Tips states the following:

"If the "Scan" button is not visible, try one of the following:

"Verify you've installed the latest version of Java or try another web browser. For more help, refer to the "System Requirements" section.
If you're using the Firefox browser, run it in "Safe Mode" with the check box for "Disable all add-ons" checked. Then click the "Continue in Safe Mode" button. For additional instructions, read this article on Safe Mode." This did not help.

You won't like to hear this but the transaction went smoothly using IE 9.

There has been a change in the Java security settings, see:

If you visit a website regularly then a possible workaround is to add the URL to the Java Exceptions Site List, see:

I had previously added the following URL's to the exception site list in the Java console security tab.

https://www.usaa.com

https://www.usaa.com/inet/bank_deposit/BkHomeDeposit

Apparently Java is aware of the USAA problem as I read this on a Java page:

Applications where this issue may be seen include: Yahoo Games, Ebay, and Paypal Shipping Label, USAA, Etrade Marketcaster.
