New Change at YouTube?

I am still using Firefox is to download YouTube videos to watch later at home. The "crash every hour, crash again for the next three restarts and then 'Oops, we lost what you were doing'" BS that has plagued the once-GREAT browser ever since the developers started taking money from Google has made it utterly unusable for anything else.

In the last few minutes I have encountered a new problem. After the latest automated crash, trying to download YouTube videos now results in opening the video in a new tab. After trying several add-ins, I settled on Download YouTube Videos as MP4 1.7.18 as my "go to" option.

Sorry, I've got to run; but I've run out of time. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
