The "Import Bookmarks" won't work if there's no backup dates... What to do?

I just swapped-out my desktop PC's, and I have lost ALL of my Firefox Bookmarks :( I have been thru all of the "Import and restore" help guides, but unfortunately any earlier restore dates are just not offered to me... only the 1 date after I did the computer swap. How can I get my old bookmarks back and onto my new PC? I'm using Windows 8.1 Thanks!

Firefox makes safety backup of the bookmarks with name: bookmark-<date>... .json (under Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles). I suggest to search the *.json files on your PC and restore it from the "Firefox/Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks/Import and Backup" menu. Important: these safety backups are hidden files, so you have to search in hidden files too! If you cannot find the backup you need, I think your bookmarks have been lost :(

Do you still have your old computer running, or do you have the hard drive from your old PC, or do you have a copy of the hard drive, or did you use a data transfer tool to copy old data onto your new computer?
