Why was this change forced on me, and how do I explain your arrogance to my parents who have heard me repeatedly condemn Micro$haft for exactly that?

"Why was this change forced on me"

-- I had absolutely NO warning that changes of THIS magnitude would be forced on me with this 'update'

" and how do I explain your arrogance to my parents who have heard me repeatedly condemn Micro$haft for exactly that?"

-- My parents are aware of the 'complications' they are subjected to - having to 're-learn' their otherwise comfortable environment when forced to adopt the 'new normal' - but are also aware that (for the most part) they have been very fortunate to rely on me to help them make the right decisions in what/when to 'upgrade' their software environment

This upgrade is wholly unprecedented, IMHO

I as a volunteer apologizes for the frustration and issues Firefox 29 has caused. However, we are open to ideas and to listen the feedback you have to making Firefox 29 and to better suit the needs for you.

Here are a few suggestions for restoring the old design. We hope you’ll find one that works for you:

So, your advice to me is to install an Add-On so that I can drag tools and icons around until I have recreated the browser I had before you completely redesigned it?

How do I get the tabs back below the Address Bar?

Where did the Add a Tab + go? (oh, there is is, in a Sub Menu~)

Why was this 'upgrade' not an Option?

I can not speak on behalf of the teams that made or created this change. The add-on will help restore Firefox back to the way it was for the most part but it is not possible to restore it completely.

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Thank you, cor-el --- as far as being able to read the tabs again, that first add-on was a lifesaver. The default (tabsontop=true) was VERY uncomfortable.. Unfortunate that I had to 'add-on' the ability to read the tabs -- now, hopefully, they will 'un-grey' the tabs in the background~~!

Also: the Title Bar cannot be hidden with this add-on installed (and I understand that the Mac OS is having further issues with 'whitespace' and white lines..)
