Guten Tag, Aufgrund einer Panne habe ich Mozilla Thunderbird auf meinem Computer reinstalliert, aber mein ganzes Adressbuch ist leider weg. Gibt es die Möglichkeit dieses Adressbuch wieder zu herstellen ? Und wie ? Mit freundlichen Grüßen Francoise

Use case:

10 email address UNIFIED inbox 20 emails: 4 read and/or favorite and/or tagged and/or with attachment 16 NOT (the opposite)

Need to select all one which are not favorites - > they have to be archived

With Quick select there is a way to select all that has 1 or more attribute

BUT there is no way to select those which have NOT 1 or more attribute (the inverse)

The mails list can't be sorted to attribute values, attribute NEGATIVE values

Is there a way to do it?

If not: It might be quite insane logically not let the user to filter mails WITHOUT a certain attribute. There should be a button with the possibility to invert the list. Or something like that. Shift-click on quick selection buttons which negate a filter. ??? Filtering/searching means: not relevant, "relevant: Yes", "relevant: No". Today "relevant: No" is not implemented Email workflows (archiving, ...........) use NOT favorite, NOT tagged etc selections: I want to archive everything except those which are favorites, which are tagged etc.

I'm running Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) on Windows 10.

After it has been running for some time (usually half an hour), Thunderbird starts freezing up. It seems to be stuck at getting new messages from the server.

I can't close the window when writing a new message, I can't read e-mails and even closing Thunderbird doesn't work. I have to maually end the process in the task manager. CPU load and RAM are not affecter and all other programs on the computer work fine.

If I run Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode, these issues are not present. I have no active extensions (just one disabled), I'm using the default theme.

Any ideas what could be causing these issues or how to troubleshoot this?

Version 128.6.1esr, This just recently started. When I open an email and navigate to an advertisement picture within that email I used to be able to left click on that picture and it would open up a window in my chrome web browser. Now, when I navigate to that picture, all it does is show the icon that allows you to expand the size of that picture. Any idea's on how I can restore it back to the mouse arrow to allow me to click on the embedded link within the picture?

Thunderbird displays the complex code in the address and and subject line as well as text of the print preview and prints them as such. How can I change back to the simple address contentso that code is not displayed?

How do I rearrange email address into different locations. I have latest version downloaded, installed and working perfectly. But ...smile)... I want to rearrange email addresses around. I have Windows 11 on my desktop home computer and have been with you for many many years. I am also making $3 monthly donations.

On Windows 11 Pro (latest updates) desktop, I use Thunderbird (latest update) to send/receive email. Usually, Norton 360 (latest update) VPN must be turned off to received emails. I say "usually," because sometimes it works with VPN on. Is there a way to receive emails without needing to usually turn off VPN? What I have been trying hasn't worked. Thanks, if you can help.

I have a repeatable issue that was present in Firefox but is now fixed (automatically, nothing I did). Hoping that we can find a solution in Thunderbird also.

I have a Mac (Intel) with a VPN connection (wireguard) to my office just for office traffic. Regular traffic bypasses the VPN. Every time the machine goes to sleep for an extended amount of time (overnight), Thunderbird's DNS resolutions fail. I have 8 different IMAP accounts (including 2 gmail accounts). None are using the VPN connection but direct email address.

After sleep, there is no more connections and the culprit is DNS failures on all accounts. This is the only software (and I have many running simultaneously!) that is affected. Solution is to shutdown Thunderbird and restart. Resetting the dnscache on mac doesn't work. *SOMETIMES* disconnecting from VPN and reconnecting resets it, but not always.

I had the issue with both Mozilla products (Firefox and Thunderbird) and was just living with it. But a recent update in Firefox fixed it on that software. I haven't looked at the release logs to see if anything changed.

So I'm guessing there is something we can do with Thunderbird to reset the DNS or something else when it comes back from sleep.

Let me know if any more information would be helpful.

I recently hat some issues with one of my accounts. At first some random mails disappeared right after receiving them, which made me question my sanity. Last week, I was able to witness a mail being recieved, appearing in search results, disappearing in the client and disappearing the mail from the server about a minute later.

While I was still wondering about this and looking for solutions (I tried the "Repair Folder" last week), I found no apparent changes, until yesterday, when about 9 months worth of emails turned into thin air. (Not in the inbox, not in the trash, not in the archive or on the server). Fortunately our IT department has backups and could also confirm my suspicion that the deletion was issued from Thunderbird.

I think there is a severe bug somewhere, but at the current moment I don't have the smallest clues to write a useful bugreport. Where would you start collecting evidence for this?

Forgotten part of Thunderbird password which appears not to have been saved. Thunderbird doesn't appear on my Password list.

I'm attempting to add secure.fastusenet.org (SSL/TLS) as a newsgroup server.

I have the Always request authentication when connecting to this server checked, but when I attempt to pull the newsgroups down, it does not prompt for the username and password and the connection is refused.

Hi, I have a persistent but intermittent problem sending emails. When an email decides it is not going to go a pop up appears and it says:

Sending the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server SMTP (failed). The server maybe unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

Can you please advise how to resolve this issue?

Have installed Thunderbird on an IMAC computer. From day one Thunderbird has been slow to open. Message box appears asking me to enter Login password. Sometimes doesn't accept password. Have to retype password again.

Without warning, password rejected. My internet provider, Uniserve, gave me a temporary password for Thunderbird. Created a new password for Uniserve Webmail and Thunderbird. Worked for a while. No problem receiving and sending e-mails.

This morning my new Thunderbird password is being rejected.

What could be the problem?

This TB installation is used exclusively as a RSS feed reader, so no email accounts configured.

In the console I get the message bursts below. Is there anything I can do to debug/analyze this? I have no idea which RSS feed is causing these messages and for what reason.

I am trying to send 10 emails in total, one per day, according to the date and time in the CSV/Excel file. However, it is not automatically sending them according to the sheet. Either it is not reading from the sheet or there is some other issue. e.g., Column A: To (1@test.com, 2@test.com, 3@test.com,...) Column B: Date (2025-02-15 13:00, 2025-03-15 13:00, 2025-04-15 13:00,...) Column C: Subject (Test Subject A, Test Subject B, Test Subject C,...) So on Then I'm using Mail Merge and Send Later but not getting the automated result.

Result Expected: Enter everything in the Excel file and run it via Mail Merge/ Send Later or any other Add-on to achieve this.

Any help in this will be much appriciated.

I have Settings > General alert notification to show Message Preview Text, Subject and Sender, but the alerts never show the Message Preview. They do show "[my-email] received 1 new message" as a title (which is somewhat self-evident and superflous), [subject] from [Sender]. I've switched between System and non-System notifications but there is no difference.

This is TB 128.6.1esr on Windows.

I have recently begun receiving the following error message from Thunderbird: "Server imap.earthlink.net has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem". It doesn't happen constantly, but at least half the time when reading or moving messages to a different folder or when deleted messages from trash. Examining Earthlink directly from a browser shows that the action issued under Thunderbird has occasionally not been executed. Earthlink Support says everything is OK with them. (I suspect a timing issue, but do not know how to proceed.)
