Hello. I've had this problem for a while now, and I can't find the setting to change it. When I click on a link to a .pdf file, I get the "Opening _filename.pdf_" box. It is default set to "Open with Adobe Acrobat DC". When I click on "OK" to open the file, it opens it properly in Adobe Acrobat. However, it also saves a copy to my desktop (which is set as the default download save location.) I just want the file to open, not save as well, as this clutters up my desktop and I have to constantly delete the files. Has anyone else encountered this? I've searched the forums but have been unable to locate a similar problem.

Thank you. Bill

I always use DuckDuckGo but today when I opened Firefox it was set to chrome. I always select "never remember history" but it changes back to "use custom settings for history" every time. And, I do not have an organization so why are they managing my browser? WHY DO MY SETTINGS KEEP CHANGING? Looks like I need to find a different browser if this can't be fixed because I'm tired of having to check these and make changed every day.

I have just noticed that the Mozilla desktop defaults to Sydney Australia for location. Why is that? It is only one city in Australia and its not the main city. The capital City is Canberra. And each State has its own capital city and time zone.

Yes i did change it from Sydney. But my point is, that Sydney is not the default city in Australia for the purposes of location. It is simply one city.

You haven't provided an off switch for this "thumbnail preview image of the webpage" on my taskbar? I don't want anything dropping down from my task bar on hovering over it.

This is a new thing, that Firefox for some reason thought was a good idea. Mouse hovering on my taskbar, and have a drop down thumbnail preview image of the webpage?

Thank you all in advance...  :)

I followed the instructions to install flatpak and then firefox (from the Mozilla pages) and got to the end, but Firefox was not not the path. There was a shell script in/home/edg/.local/share/flatpak/app/org.mozilla.firefox/x86_64/stable/869b4e0279ab4475432b2930ae5d583b7a0e00bac1078b8848d163820a152fa5/files/bin/firefox but it led to /app/lib/firefox/firefox. The /app directory doesn't exist.

Not sure what is wrong.

I'm using Firefox in a kiosk-mode application, on a Raspberry Pi based system, started from a bash script like this:

# Clear history etc. to prevent problems if unit is not perfectly shut down rm -v -r /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/*.default rm -v -r /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/*.default-esr rm -v -r /home/pi/.cache/mozilla/firefox/*.default rm -v /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini

sleep 2

/usr/bin/firefox-esr --kiosk -url http://127.0.0.1

However on booting I get a banner from Mozilla along the top of the screen saying: "Firefox automatically sends some data to Mozilla so that we can improve your experience [Choose what I share]"

This is not acceptable in kiosk mode, as it would give users access to the configuration as well as being a visual annoyance. How can we disable this?

I found old posts about this from 2012 or so, but nothing for current version of Firefox I have been using Firefox for years. This has suddenly started happening on my laptop. Annoyingly it also displays the same configuration pop-up with various screens you have to go through, clicking Skip this step before you can start browsing. I reset the Home Page to my preference. But next time I start Firefox it reverts to the Welcome and forgets all settings.
