Hello,

I just installed Firefox 29.01 - Yahoo 1.29 on a new laptop, windows 7, and now when I select a yahoo bookmark from the yahoo toolbar it always opens in a new tab instead of remaining on the current tab. This did not happen on my old laptop, and happens regardless of my settings in the firefox "Tab" options, and regardless of right/left/ctrl etc. click. How can I prevent this? I also tried the yahoo bookmark settings, but there is no option to control this. Thank you, Morten

Hi morten.t, Thank you for your question, I understand that bookmarks are opening in a new tab instead of the current one. There used to be a feature for this but it was discontinued: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268039

Maybe this one: browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground "about:config: True: Do not focus new tabs opened from links (load in background) False: Opposite of above Note: bookmarks & history can be opened similarly with browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground Note: In Firefox, this can be changed via "Tools → Options → Tabs → When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" (Firefox 2 and above) or "Tools → Options → Tabs → Select new tabs opened from links" (Firefox 1.5)."

This is not a defualt feature. You can try this add on though: Open in current tab

Thanks guigs2, but unfortunately this does not solve the problem. The issue seems to be with Yahoo, for sites opened from the Y! Bookmarks app on the Y! toolbar. A Google indicates that there is no way to change this behavior in the latest version of the Y! toolbar even though in previous versions Y! bookmarks stayed on the current tab....
