Aurora 33.0a2 / Mac OSX 10.9.4 (also occurred on earlier versions of Auora and OSX 10.9)

Links on some web pages do not work; that is, either Firefox/Aurora does not respond of the browser or simply seems to act as if it received no response from the server.

One example of page containing the link; It is the Home Depot (Canada) page. (http://www.homedepot.ca). When I use the "change" link (top right of home page) I am presented with a pop-up. The failure is the "submit" on the pop-up asking for my address. The browser returns me to a page without showing me my new store. (The status line shows "www.homedepot.ca/#).

The problem does not occur with Google Chrome.

Tom Kane

I have to go to Google Chrome to get this to work. This occurs on other pages, btw.

Do you have that problem with the release version of Firefox?

Aurora is an alpha 2 level development version of what will become Firefox in a few months, and may have a bug or two.

Such issues are likely caused by JavaScript that isn't working.

You can check for error messages in the Web Console or Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) to see if you can locate the problem.

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
