Hi everyone!

Firefox loads my home page when I open it, but recently it's also started to open a 'Auto-Sort Bookmarks' page.

How do I stop the 'Auto-Sort Bookmarks' page opening in the first place 9without having to shut it each time)?

Thanks!

Hi, Firefox is able to open multiple home pages with the URLs separated by a 'pipe' (|), so please see - How to set the home page, and in 'Home Page,' make sure that in addition to your home page URL, there isn't anything else - if there is, just delete it. (the Firefox start page is about:home but you may have set a different one). If it's easier, you can just click on Restore to Default instead.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!

Thank you!

Couldn't find a 'pipe', and restoring to default wiped my home page and retained the unwanted auto-sort bookmark page!!!

But... I did see, along the way, how to disable the auto-sort bookmark extension. Presumably that means I won't have auto-sorted bookmarks from now on unless I enable, but it's a small price to pay to remove the daily irritation of an unwanted page loading up front.

Problem worked around! Thanks for helping get me there.

Please provide a screenshot of that 'Auto-Sort Bookmarks' page that you are getting on the start of Firefox. Not something that is part of Firefox, I wonder if that is part of an add-on that you installed?

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

Here's the screenshot. Not something I intentionally added-on, but appreciate any other light you can throw on it!

Thank you

That is an extension that you installed. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auto-sort-bookmarks/

There is an "Issues" bug filed about that "feature" where the Options window opens on each Firefox launch. https://github.com/eric-bixby/auto-sort-bookmarks-webext/issues/71

Don't know what to say except that has been reported to the developer, but he hasn't responded as to whether that is an "intended feature" or something that will be corrected.

Many thanks. Not user error...:)
