It is 'Distil Networks' that is making you complete this 'CAPTCHA'  :

Are you sure you disabled any extensions (they call them 'plugins') that might block content, as suggested by jscher2000  ?

If so, then maybe you should 'submit a request' (scroll all the way down on their Help page .....

In Firefox 56+ the "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" setting can no longer be found in Options/Preferences.

You can modify this pref on the about:config page to enable or disable this feature

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

I toggled "browser.download.useDownloadDir" to false and no change.

The flyfrontier site loads correctly initially but when the website responds to book a flight the allow button shows briefly then disappears. Not a problem with Explorer.

Does the button return or is it just gone gone?

allow button appears very briefly then disappears.

Most websites I access are blocked and require the allow button which works fine. It is only this one website that it disappears.

I'm not sure why you are changing that preference. To turn off the redirect block:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Does that help?

the allow button doesn't appear at all after making that change, but still access is blocked.

There must be some other issue. Do you think it could be the pop-up blocker?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button

In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

I tried turning off pop-ups and deleting cookie, history and cache. still doesn't fix. It might be something with Frontier because this is the only site I have a problem with.

And just to confirm, can you rule out any content blockers as an issue? Those might include:

(1) Built-in Tracking Protection feature (especially in private windows).

Do you see a shield icon toward the left end of the toolbar when this problem hits? More info on how to use the shield to manage blocking: What happened to Tracking Protection?.

(2) Content blocking extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix.

These typically provide toolbar buttons to manage blocked content in a page.

tried it all. Still a problem. The problem link is below. It starts load then stops after partially loading the page.

https://booking.flyfrontier.com/Flight/Select

That URL reminded me of another recent thread, unsolved, where that flight results page got hung up for another user:

flyfrontier.com will load but not connect in Firefox browser

In that case, there was the loading image (bear with a circle around it), but the flight list didn't load. Is yours getting that far?

Same here : 4 different animals, just when you think you're done - you have to start all over again, and again and again .....

That is exactly what happens. You load a couple of images (one of which is a bear with a circle revolving around it) and then it doesn't complete the page.

And after the 'animal test' they make you take a 'sound test' , then back to the 'animal test' again and just keep going 'round in circles - you never 'pass the test' .....

Thanks.

It turns out to be Flash. There is a setting option to "block dangerous and intrusive flash content". I unchecked the box and we are good to go now.

Thank you all for the effort.

Well done  !

Turns out Distil Networks is right : the culprit was indeed a plugin, and not an extension .....

Good for you to have figured it out  !
